Collaboration Day
Next Tuesday, we will have a collaboration day. We will meet in the cafeteria at 8:00 that morning for breakfast and a quick faculty meeting (maybe one of those fun icebreaker activities that you all love so much).
After that, we will meet by subject area for some vertical teaming. Now, getting 30 people in a room to talk about (and agree on) their subject area may be a bit much, so I need you to split your teams into two groups. Math and science people will split into a math group and a science group. ELA/Social Studies will do the same. So, there will be four different subject meetings going on.
During these meetings, there are some things I would like you to focus your attention on.
- Compare your ELO's and see how well they align.
- Talk about instructional strategies and verbiage.
End these meetings by 11:00 for lunch.
After lunch (12:00), we will reconvene in our team meetings. Use this time to:
- Look at data
- Plan instruction
- Look ahead to our next lesson study.
At 3:00, we are done.
