Today is July 9 which means you have 34 more days of summer before our district Convocation on August 12.

The guys have been working hard to get the floors waxed and will be wrapping that up soon. I will send a note out letting you know when you are able to get into classrooms.

We have been working on a new resource to make finding things easier for teachers (and by "we" I mean Michele Carmode). It's hard to keep track of all the links and documents that we share throughout the year so we have developed the PBMS site to house all of those items.

This site has our building calendar, blog, learning community, staff directory, master schedule, black book, PBS handbook, library information, digital resources information, duty schedule, and more. Add this site to your bookmark bar.

Of course, not everything is updated on the site yet. We will be updating documents as they become available. If there is something you think should be on the site, let Michele or me know and we will try to get it added. In case you missed it, here is the link for the site.

We were lucky enough to get an additional 300 chromebooks for the building for next year. That should average out to about 6 more per classroom. The plan is for us to get an additional 300 the following year. That should get us close to one to one within the next two years. Yay, us!

Many of you know that I love technology. I love Google. And, I love what this can do for our students. But, we can't continue to teach in the same old ways. Technology is a tool to enhance learning. If technology could do the teaching, we wouldn't need teachers anymore. So, it's time to up our game.

You've heard me talk about the SAMR model before. The SAMR model is a way of looking at how you infuse technology into your pedagogy. A chromebook shouldn't be an expensive worksheet. I will spend some time talking more about this when we come back in August, but here is some good info from Kasey Bell.

or here if you want a cleaner page without all the adds.

BTW - Kasey Bell will be at the SEMO EdTech conference.
