Moving day is coming! Here is what you need to know. 

We have boxes. I asked for about 250 to start with, but the district has 2500 boxes (we are still figuring out the tape situation). When you need a box, just let John know and he will get it to you or you can send a kid to it from him. There are two sizes available. Be sure to use the packing label including your name, room number (going to), and a general description of the contents.

When packing these boxes, be sure you don't make them so heavy that they can't be moved. If it is hard for you to lift, push, pull, or drag, then it's probably too heavy. Once packed, place it out of the way in a corner of your room. If the pile of boxes in the corner starts to become overwhelming or in the way, let us know and we will move it out for you.

Personal items need to be packed and taken home. Poplar Bluff R-1 will not be responsible for moving personal items. Your teacher desk and any furniture going with you will need to be labeled with your name and new room. 

Everything has to be packed and ready by the time you leave on the last day of school, May 12, 2016. You will not be able to get back in the building after that because once we leave this building it becomes a construction zone.

Once we are out, the moving crew will come in and begin loading the trucks. I will not be in charge of moving, so I will not be able to say what order things need to go on the truck and how they need to be handled. Items placed on the truck will likely be there until sometime in the month of August. If you have items you are worried about being damaged by water, heat, or high humidity, you may want to make other arrangements (just for those pieces).

It is too early to tell when we will get in to our new rooms. August is the safe bet, but we will keep pushing to get in earlier.
