KidAccount

KidAccount is the new system we will be rolling out for dismissal. The actual start date has been pushed back in order for us to get some information out to our parents about the new procedures. In the mean time, we need all teachers to get student information put into the system. When you put info into the system, use the following abbreviations: BGC, PP, Walk, or the number of the bus. Please have all of this finalized in the system by Thursday.

Once we have all of the pieces in place, we will create some informational videos and literature to send home to educate parents about the change.

Assessment Capable Learners

At the training we had last Friday, we learned about several things. One of those things was the work done by John Hattie on the effect size of certain factors in education. The information give out by our trainer had Assessment Capable Learners at an effect size of 1.33. Here is a chart that lists a few other factors and the effect size that goes along with it. The info is pretty interesting. Some things listed are a "no brainer". For example, teacher-student relationships are more important than the use of calculators. Others are a little harder to understand (pre-term birth weight is more important than class size).
