Our building goal has always been to have grades in within a week, but it is district policy that grades be entered in the computer within two weeks of the assignment. Many of our parents check Parent Portal on a regular basis and will make sure their students stay on top of their work if they know about it. Be sure that you are getting those entered regularly and not saving them all up until the day before progress reports go out:)

As many of you know, we purchased a new copier for the 6th grade work room. It seems to be very popular because we are constantly replenishing the paper supply in the 6th grade workroom. There are two things I need you all to be aware of.

1. Many of you are using this copier. If you jam it up or it has an issue, let someone know. It's not like we are going to hunt you down (flashback to laminator). However we do need to fix it so the next person can use it or call the repairman to come in and work his magic.
2. When we signed our lease on this copier, we signed an agreement that specified the number of copies we would use on each copier. The 6th grade copier has about 400,000 copies before we have to pay for an overage. The other copiers also have a set amount, roughly a million between them. I say this in the hopes that you will use the other copiers as much as the new one so I don't end up paying a huge amount at the end of the school year.
