Here is some info about the upcoming Wings party. The Wings party will be Tuesday, January 12, in the afternoon. Any students who are going to the movies for Wings will need to eat lunch at 10:45-11:10. We will then start loading busses to take them to the movie theater where they can get their concessions. The movie (Alvin and the Chipmunks) will start at 12:00 and run until 1:30 when we will leave and return to school.
Who ever goes with the Wings students will be gone the entire time. We will have grade level SPED teachers and paras here to help with students who are in the "Room of Doom" along with Ms. Ward and Mr. Fain for 6th grade and Mr. Eubanks and Ms. Hatch for 5th grade. So, we should be able to spread them out and make sure it is a productive time for them.
The AR party will be as it has been in the past.

Next Friday, January 15, is a collaboration day. Our building will be participating in the TechCamp being put on at the Junior High. Registration and Breakfast will begin at 7:00 that morning with the keynote beginning at 8:00. Look for Sheila to sign in and then get registered for your sessions. Registration will be a time to see what is being offered and where you want to spend your time. It looks like there will be a lot of good sessions to go to with some of our very own staff presenting in several time slots. Lunch is on your own.

SLO - Next steps. On January 28th (5th grade) and February 2 (6th grade) we will finish our SLO templates during our collaboration time. So, you will need to have answered the three questions I posed last week on the document that you started.
Then you will need to discuss, as a team, and decide your interval of instruction (sometime between Feb. 3 and April 15). Remember that is two points in time during which you will pre-assess, teach, and post assess.
You've already chosen the goal (ELO), but what assessment and teaching strategies will be used? And, what will be your growth targets for your students. These items will require a longer conversation that we have time for on collaboration day, so please have an idea, as a team, what your plans are.
I am going to be sharing a folder with each of you that contains a blank form to start filling out.
I need to have all plans completed by Feb. 3.

I would love to have a dodgeball team from this building in the upcoming Dodgeball tournament. We need at least 8 people to represent us. Here is a little video clip to get you in the mood:)
